St John's is a church for the community and during the week it offers all sorts of community gatherings within its beautiful and spacious building. We would love to welcome you too.
THE WESLEY HALL is a large sports measuring 14m by 13m.
It has hardwood floor marked out with a badminton court. The hall can accommodate a maximum of 140 people seated. There is an entertainment licence granted by North
Tyneside Council. Certain conditions apply to the entertainment licence. The hall also has a large stage at one end. There is a large drop-down screen and ceiling
mounted projector. Small tables accommodating 4 seated persons, or larger trestle tables can be set out as
required. Children’s tables and chairs are also
available, up to a maximum of 40 children. The hall has a piano.
THE MINOR HALL is a
meeting room, measuring 10m by 7m,
which can accommodate a maximum of 40
people. Tables and chairs are available to be
set out as required. A drop down screen is
available, as well as a piano.
THE KITCHEN
Both the Wesley Hall and Minor Hall have
access to a large fully fitted kitchen
containing a gas oven and hob, microwave,
instant hot water boiler for tea & coffee, a
fridge and freezer. A sink and dishwasher are
provided for cleaning crockery and utensils.
CAR PARK
There is a good sized car park belonging to St
John's available for church users.
THE YOUTH ROOM is
located on the first floor, and accessed by
stairs is a comfortable room designed for
informal gatherings and activities. Measuring 7m by 6m, this room can accommodate up to
25 people.
The room is fully carpeted, and includes a large corner sofa, bean-bags as well as movable chairs. There is a TV monitor. A games table is available upon request.
The first floor contains a gents and ladies
toilets; and a small kitchenette suitable for
making tea & coffee is also located on the first
floor.
THE SANCTUARY is a large space that sits 300 people.
Equipped with a large drop-down screen
and projector, sound system and Wi-Fi.
The acoustics are very good for musical
performances. A pipe organ with remote
consul, as well as a grand piano are
available. Past uses of the Sanctuary
include school presentation celebrations,
concerts, musical rehearsals, as well as
weddings and funerals.
