About St John's Methodist Church

It’s easy to think of church as only what happens on the Sunday and yet church is a community of people getting together to worship, to learn, to support, to play, to listen, to worship, to walk alongside the other, to be and do life together.  If you ever thought church is what happens on Sunday morning, please check all we at St John’s Methodist Church do and we hope you see that church is a community of people of all ages and backgrounds living together every day of the week, welcoming, open, caring, encouraging, supportive, an authentic place.

And you are welcome to be part of this community, to belong, even if you don’t believe in God or are wondering what it is all about. Because God’s love for you does not depend on what you do, or what you believe in, God loves you for you. And, when we know that we are truly loved, then we can’t help it but love others. And so, the greatest commandment Jesus gave us makes sense: ‘To love God with all our hearts, souls and strength, and to love our neighbours as ourselves.’

And in loving, in giving, we receive so much more, and our lives are enriched. We look forward to meeting you, to becoming your friends, so please don’t hesitate to contact us here, or via our Facebook page, or by ringing, or visiting the church.
